When I was younger my relationship with writing was amazing and I loved to write. In school we were able to write about our own experiences like our summers and weekends. One writing memory I have from when i was younger is when I wrote about the time I went to Disney World. When I was describing our stay, I felt excitement and joy and never wanted to stop. I was also especially proud of that writing assignment to the point where I really wanted to share my writing to the class first. These days, I still love writing but opportunities to write about my own experiences are quite rare. None of my more recent writing assignments have managed to excite me that much. The writing nowadays is more geared towards novels and poems. However, there are some prompts and topics that definitely excite me more than others. For example, I love symbolism and writing about it. I enjoy digging deeper into the authors meaning which allows me to get inside their head and make the novel more appealing and understandable. I also enjoy connecting the novel to my own life. it makes me feel more apart of the story and can further help me connect with the characters and the story line. Overall, when I was younger I had more of a passion for writing than I do now and I think part of that is the fact that i'm getting older and assignments don't have to interest me anymore for me to do them.
